Lions Sign CB Tye Hill

The Detroit Lions have signed free agent cornerback Tye Hill, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Hill takes the roster spot of Jason Hanson, who has been placed on injured reserve.

A first-round pick (15th overall) out of Clemson by the St. Louis Rams in 2006, Hill started 21 of 28 games during his first three seasons in the NFL, totaling 101 tackles and 4 interceptions before he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons last September.

Hill had 7 tackles and a 62-yard pick-six in eight games, including three starts, for the Falcons, but was released in March.

Signed by the Tennessee Titans, Hill had five tackles during the 2010 pre-season before he was released on September 4.
