Lions G Dylan Gandy Signs RFA Tender

Detroit Lions restricted free agent guard Dylan Gandy has signed his one-year tender, his agent, Scott Smith, has announced.

A fourth-round pick (129th overall) out of Texas Tech by the Indianapolis Colts in 2005, Gandy started 14 of his 42 games during his three seasons, and was a back-up for the Colts during their win over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. Waived by the Colts in 2008, Gandy was signed by the Denver Broncos, shuffling on and off their roster for most the season. Gandy also spent a week with the Oakland Raiders in 2008, but did not appear in a game.

Gandy signed a one-year deal with the Lions last April, starting five of the 15 games he was active at right guard.

The Lions tendered Gandy at the "Original Round" level, which comes with a $1.176 million dollar base salary for 2010. Gandy's signing leaves safety Daniel Bullocks as the lone Lions restricted free agent without a signed tender.
