Lions Claim G Trevor Canfield Off Waivers

The Detroit Lions have been waiver-wire warriors, with eight of their 73-man roster acquired via waiver claims.

Brad Biggs of the National Football Post reports that they've added a ninth, as they've been awarded guard Trevor Canfield, who was waived by the Seattle Seahawks.

A seventh-round pick (254th overall) out of the University of Cincinnati by the Arizona Cardinals in 2009, the Seahawks signed Canfield off the Cardinals' practice squad in the final week of the 2009 regular season. The 6-4, 307-pound Canfield primarily played right guard for the Bearcats.

Biggs adds that the Chicago Bears also put in a claim for Canfield, who is signed through the 2011 season with base salaries of $320,000 (2010) and $405,000 (2011).
