Jaguars Appear Set to Re-Sign QB Todd Bouman

With Luke McCown expected to miss to the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his right knee, the Jacksonville Jaguars are apparently turning to 38-year old Todd Bouman to back-up starter David Garrard.

Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union reports Bouman is in the Jaguars' quarterbacks meeting room this evening.

The 6-2, 238-pound Bouman played his college ball at St. Cloud State, and entered the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 1997.

In 43 career games, including six starts, Bouman has completed 129-of-230 pass attempts for 1,683 yards and 11 touchdowns and interceptions.

Bouman last started in 2005 with the New Orleans Saints, and last appeared in an NFL game in 2007 with the St. Louis Rams. Bouman has also had stints with the Green Bay Packers (2006) and Baltimore Ravens (2008).

Should Bouman re-sign with the Jaguars, it will be his fourth stint with the franchise.

Signed in October of 2007, Bouman spent a month on the 53-man roster before being released. Bouman also spent the 2008 and 2009 pre-seasons with the Jaguars, where he completed 54.8% of his 113 pass attempts for 760 yards, with four touchdowns and a pair of interceptions, but was cut prior to both regular seasons.
