Haynesworth to Reach Out to Shanahan

Disgruntled Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is expected to report to training camp on Friday, but will reach out to head coach Mike Shanahan on Wednesday, Chris Russell of ESPN 980 reports.

Russell adds that Haynesworth has possibly dropped over 40 pounds, and plans to travel to the D.C. area on Wednesday night. (As of July 14, Haynesworth had shed 32 pounds)

"He's accepted this is where he is going to be," Russell's source says, adding that the motivating factor with Haynesworth is keeping the $21 million signing bonus he received this off-season.

The Redskins would prefer Haynesworth embrace his role as the 3-4 nose tackle, but have been receptive to the idea of trading him this off-season. That won't happen without Haynesworth returning at least 80% of the $21 million dollar check they cut him in April.
