ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the New York Giants have signed first-round defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.
According to Schefter, the deal is worth $20.05 million dollars, with $11.629M guaranteed.
The 6-5, 270-pound defensive end from South Florida opted to forgo his senior season to enter the 2010 NFL Draft after posting 45 tackles, including 16.5 for a loss and 6.5 quarterback sacks. Pierre-Paul added an interception, which he returned for a touchdown, and earned first-team All-Big East honors in his one season with the Bulls.
Pierre-Paul is very raw, and may need time to develop, but could see time as a situational pass-rusher as a rookie.
With Pierre-Paul under contract, the Giants will have all hands on deck when they report to Albany on Sunday.
