Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul Struggles to Get Through Day Two

New York Giants first-round defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul didn't miss any reps, but struggled to get through the second day of the team's rookie mini-camp, Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger reports, and head coach Tom Coughlin pins it on conditioning.

More precisely, the lack thereof.

"I think he's going through the conditioning aspect of this," Coughlin said. "I think he's suffering a little, but he hung in there.

"I just think he's, like a lot of them, they're suffering a little bit because it's hotter than it's been," Coughlin continued. "They've had two yesterday, they had time to cramp up and get sore and come back in this morning and have to do it again. I wish he was running around like perhaps I had the thought that he would be, but he learns, he learns every time he gets out there."

Temperatures in the northeast are in the 80s on Saturday, but with Pierre-Paul playing his college ball in South Florida, heat really shouldn't be an issue.

After the workout, Pierre-Paul said that he has "pinching" in his back whenever he starts getting back into football drills, which go away after a few days.
