Eagles DE Trent Cole Has Mild Ankle Sprain

Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl defensive end Trent Cole is day-to-day with a mild ankle sprain, the team announced.

Cole was injured during the second quarter of Friday night's pre-season game against the Kansas City Chiefs. An MRI this morning revealed no structural damage, and Cole is likely to be available for the regular season opener against the Green Bay Packers on September 12.

Since being chosen with the 146th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft out of the University of Cincinnati, Cole (6-3, 270) has 312 tackles and 47 quarterback sacks, posting double-digit sacks totals in 2007 and 2009, which resulted in two trips to the Pro Bowl.
