Dolphins Making Adjustments to Tony Sparano's Contract

The Miami Dolphins and head coach Tony Sparano are in discussions on a "contract adjustment", Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.

In other words, after openly courting Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Dolphins are in the process of financially apologizing to Sparano. Or at the very least, they're trying to figure out a way to restore his authority after spending the last few days undermining it.

The Dolphins are 25-23 under Sparano. After winning the AFC East in 2008, the Dolphins have back-to-back 7-9 seasons and third-place finishes.

Sparano and his assistants are under contract through the 2011.
