Dolphins 1st Round DE Jared Odrick Agrees to Terms

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that Miami Dolphins first-round defensive end Jared Odrick has agreed to terms on a contract.

Financial terms on the five-year deal were not immediately known.

The 6-5, 301-pound Odrick was a three-year starter at Penn State, totaling 104 tackles, including 25.5 for a loss and 14.5 quarterback sacks from the defensive tackle position.

Odrick had a career year in 2009, posting career highs with 43 tackles and seven quarterback sacks. Odrick was named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year, and earned second-team All-American honors in 2009 to go along with his second consecutive first-team All-Big Ten selection.

Odrick has an excellent chance of earning a starting job right away, with the Dolphins looking at him as an ideal "5" technique end.
