Cardinals Sign Rouse, Togafau

The Arizona Cardinals shuffled their roster on Tuesday, signing linebacker Pago Togafau and safety Aaron Rouse and waiving linebacker Ali Highsmith, wide receiver Deryn Bowser, and guard Dean Muthadi, who was designated as "Waived/Injured".

Togafau has spent part of the last three seasons with the Cardinals, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State in 2007. In 15 games over the last three seasons, including 7 games with the Philadelphia Eagles as a rookie, Togafau has been credited with 24 tackles.

Togafau was released by the Tennessee Titans earlier this week.

Rouse was a third-round pick out of Virginia Tech by the Green Bay Packers in 2007. The 6-4, 227-pound safety started 10 of 27 games during his first three seasons in the NFL, totaling 91 tackles with 4 interceptions. Released by the Packers early into the '09 season, Rouse finished the year with the New York Giants, where he started eight of 14 games, and made 52 tackles.

An undrafted free agent out of LSU, Highsmith appeared in 20 games, including tow starts, over his two seasons with the Cardinals, totaling 17 tackles. Bowser was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Akron in April.
