Cardinals Extend RFA Tender Offer to Deuce Lutui

As expected, the Arizona Cardinals have extended their one-year tender offer to restricted free agent guard Deuce Lutui.

A second-round pick out of USC in 2006, Lutui was tendered at the "Second Round" level in March, and will earn a $1.759 million dollar base salary in 2010, provided he signs the tender prior to June 15. After the 15th, the Cardinals can reduce the amount of the tender to $588,500, 110% of Lutui's 2009 base salary.

Lutui, who has started 56 of his 62 regular season games over the last four seasons, is expected to compete with Reggie Wells for the starting right guard job. Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt thinks the current offensive line is starting to come together.

"Their communication, their camaraderie, the way they work together...we are switching guys around, it’s a positive," Whisenhunt said on the team's official website.
