The Cleveland Browns have placed second-year linebacker David Veikune on waivers, reports Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Veikune appeared in 10 games for the Browns as a rookie, but did not post any statistics. In three pre-season games in 2010, including a start against the Chicago Bears last Thursday, Veikune totaled 8 tackles.

Chosen with the 52nd overall pick in last year's draft, the former University of Hawaii standout received a $1.34 million signing bonus as part of a four-year contract worth $3.529 million that included $1.759 million in total guarantees.
