Browns to Sign LB Eric Alexander

Free agent linebacker Eric Alexander will sign with the Cleveland Browns, Albert Elias, Alexander's agent, announced on Twitter.

"Client Eric Alexander set to reunite w HC Eric Mangini and the Browns!", Elias tweeted.

A former undrafted free agent out of LSU, Alexander (6-2, 240) spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the New England Patriots, where he totaled 48 tackles in 45 games, with 40 of his tackle coming on special teams.

Alexander had three tackles on special teams in four games with the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this season.

Browns linebacker and special teams standout Blake Constanzo (8 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) suffered a groin injury during the Browns' 24-20 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.
