Browns Name Colt McCoy Starter For Rest of Season

Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini plans to start third-round pick Colt McCoy at quarterback this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

McCoy, who started five games this season before injuring his left ankle in a Week 11 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, will remain the starting quarterback for the final three weeks of the regular season.

"I felt like he's earned this opportunity, and I want to give it to him", Mangini said on Thursday.

The Browns went 2-3 during McCoy's starts, including a stunning 34-14 win over the New England Patriots. In his five starts, McCoy has completed 81-of-127 pass attempts (63.8%) for 975 yards with 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. McCoy also has 87 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

After visiting the Bengals on Sunday, the Browns have back-to-back home games with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.
