Broncos Waive LB Diyral Briggs

The Denver Broncos announced that they have waived linebacker Diyral Briggs.

Briggs was activated off the Broncos' practice squad on October 19, and with injuries knocking Robert Ayers and Wesley Woodyard, was active for Sunday's 59-14 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green in 2009, Briggs (6-4, 230) posted a pair of special teams tackles in four games during his rookie season. Briggs appeared in one game for the 49ers earlier this season before he was waived on September 20.

The Broncos signed Briggs to their practice squad, paying him $8,000 per week, $2,800 per week over the minimum practice squad salary. If Briggs clears waivers, Denver will likely bring him back to the practice squad.

Denver travels to London later this week to face the 49ers.
