According to the team's official website, the Denver Broncos have released veteran guard Maurice Williams.
Williams, 31, was signed to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum ($755,000) on May 6.
A second-round pick (43rd overall) out of Michigan by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2002. A starter in 100 of 105 games for the Jaguars, injuries limited the 6-5, 305-pound Williams to six games and five starts over the 2008 and 2009 seasons, after he had signed a four-year, $12.5 million dollar contract.
Williams was waived by the Jaguars last December, and was claimed by the Detroit Lions, who released Williams after he failed his physical.
