Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that while the Denver Broncos will speak with restricted free agent wide receiver Brandon Marshall, they'll be doing so by phone.

Klis adds that the conversation between Marshall and head coach Josh McDaniels, and perhaps general manager Brian Xanders, may have been stimulated by the Pittsburgh Steelers trade of wide receiver Santonio Holmes to the New York Jets, and that the end result for the Broncos and Marshall is still likely to be a trade.

Before any trade can happen, Marshall will need to sign his one-year tender, but it's entirely possible that Marshall wants to hear about potential trade destinations before taking that necessary first step.
