Broncos CB Perrish Cox Faces Life in Prison

If convicted of sexual assault charges, Denver Broncos rookie cornerback Perrish Cox faces life in prison, The Associated Press reports.

Cox faces Class 3 and Class 4 felony charges, each of which carries between 2 years to life in prison.

The fifth-round pick from Oklahoma State was arrested last Thursday over a complaint filed with Lone Tree, Colorado police on October 28. Cox was freed on $50,000 bail and was active for the Broncos' 43-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

"While the Broncos have limited authority with regard to potential discipline stemming from this specific matter under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the club has fined Perrish the maximum amount for missing meetings and practice on Friday", the Broncos announced in a statement last Saturday explaining why Cox was being allowed to play.

In 12 games this season, including 8 starts, Cox has 48 tackles with an interception and 12 passes defensed.
