Boston Attorney Says Roethlisberger's History is "Super Troubling"

During an appearance on the "Dennis & Callahan Show" on Boston sports radio station WEEI this morning, Boston-based attorney Harry Manion said he was recently involved in an investigation into an incident at a Las Vegas nightclub involving Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

"Six months ago I was retained by a client of mine and a close friend to investigate allegations against Ben Roethlisberger in a Las Vegas nightclub that were absolutely identical to this Georgia girl’s story," Manion said, according to Jerry Spar of WEEI.com. "The outcome was that the young woman did not want to proceed, and we did not take any action. There is a history here — and I can’t say any further because we never proceeded with it — but there is a history here that is just super troubling."

Because it could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, Roethlisberger was not charged with rape by the Georgia district attorney, who did advise Roethlisberger to "grow up". Roethlisberger is presently en route to New York City to meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, which may result in some punitive measures by the league, as this is the second time Roethlisberger has been accused, but not charged, of a sexual assault.
