Bills TE Derek Schouman Signs RFA Tender

Buffalo Bills restricted free agent tight end Derek Schouman has signed his one-year tender, the team announced on Thursday.

Schouman, a seventh-round pick (222nd overall) out of Boise State by the Bills in 2007, was tendered at the second-round level. Barring a contract extension, Schouman will earn $1.684 million dollars in 2010.

Schouman was headed towards a career year in 2009, catching 9 passes for 103 yards in the first two weeks, but injured his knee in Week 2 and was placed on injured reserve. Schouman's rookie season was also cut short by injury (ankle), but in 21 career games, including 15 starts, Schouman (6-2, 223) has 27 receptions for 275 yards and one touchdown.

Now that Schouman has signed, all of the Bills' restricted free agents have signed their one-year tenders.
