Bills Sign TE J.P. Foschi

The Buffalo Bills have signed free agent tight end J.P. Foschi, his agent, Ralph Cindrich, announced on Twitter.

With Derek Schouman sidelined with an undisclosed injury, Shawn Nelson facing a four-game suspension at the start of the regular season, and Michael Matthews dinged up, the Bills have been searching for a veteran tight end.

An undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech, Foschi (6-3, 255) has caught 33 passes for 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 33 games with the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals.

Foschi had a career-year in 2009, starting 10 games and catching 27 passes for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Foschi has also had stints with the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings.
