Bills Practice Squad TE DajLeon Farr Placed on Injured List

According to a league source, Buffalo Bills practice squad tight end DajLeon Farr has been placed on the team's "Practice Squad-Injured Reserve" list on Friday.

Farr was signed to the Bills' practice squad on September 8.

The 6-5, 256-pound undrafted rookie from Memphis was with the San Diego Chargers during their OTAs and mini-camp. Released in early August, Farr joined the Dallas Cowboys, where he caught a pair of passes for 26 yards during the pre-season.

Farr began his college career at the University of Miami, transferring to Memphis in 2008. Farr caught 24 passes for 210 yards with four touchdowns during his 41-game college career.

According to Football Outsiders, the Bills were the NFL's most-injured team during the 2009 season, with 97.2 adjusted games lost to injury. [pg. 548, Football Outsiders Almanac 2010]

This season isn't getting off to a better start in that department, as 2010 draft picks Marcus Easley and Danny Batten are beginning their NFL careers on injured reserve, which added veteran linebacker Kawika Mitchell (foot) on Friday.

Buffalo's tight end position has been hit hard by injuries this summer. Since July 22, Joe Klopfenstein, Derek Schouman, and Michael Matthews have been placed on injured reserve, leaving Jonathan Stupar and the newly signed David Martin on the active roster while second-year tight end Shawn Nelson serves a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
