Bills Name Ryan Fitzpatrick the Starting QB vs. New England

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey has named Ryan Fitzpatrick the starting quarterback for their Week 3 game against the New England Patriots.

Fitzpatrick replaces Trent Edwards, who entered the Bills training camp as the #1 quarterback, and did little during the pre-season to lose his spot at the top of the depth chart. Edwards has struggled in the regular season, though, completing 29-of-52 for 241 yards with a touchdown and pair interceptions as the Bills have gotten off to an 0-2 start.

Fitzpatrick started eight games for the Bills last season, completing 55.9% of 227 pass attempts for 1,422 yards with 9 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, leading the Bills to a 4-4 record in the second half of the second half of the season.

The Bills have lost 13 consecutive games to the Patriots, and haven't won in Foxborough since the 2000 season.
