Bills LB Shawne Merriman Leaves Practice Early

Buffalo Bills linebacker Shawne Merriman exited his first practice with his new team after 10 minutes.

Merriman was pivoting on his right foot during an individual drill when he went down, Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com reports.

The Bills claimed Merriman off waivers from the San Diego Chargers, who had placed him on "minor" injured reserve with a calf/Achilles injury. A knee injury limited Merriman to 15 games and 4 quarterback sacks over the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Merriman had six tackles in three games before injuring his calf in a Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
