Bengals S Gibril Wilson Disappointed He'll Miss 2010

Cincinnati Bengals safety Gibril Wilson will miss the 2010 season after two ligaments in his left knee during Friday night's pre-season game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

While Wilson signing two contracts that contained $24 million in 2008 and 2009 won't illicit much sympathy, Wilson is naturally disappointed that he won't get a chance to play for the Bengals.

"It’s just one of those things. You have to bounce back," Wilson said, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I really didn’t know what was happening because I’ve never had a broken bone in my body. I thought it was a little sprain or something and I could get up and walk it off. I kind of figured something was wrong when I couldn’t really put enough pressure on it.

"I’m most disappointed in not having the opportunity to play."

Wilson is scheduled to earn $630,000 in base salary this season.
