Bengals DE Antwan Odom Confirms Positive Test

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom confirmed that he tested positive for a banned substance, and that he's appealing a four-game suspension, but denies taking a performance-enhancing substance or steroid, reports Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

"Just know that I would never cheat to gain an edge in this game that I love," Odom posted to his Twitter account. "Don’t lose your faith in me and please don’t pass judgement [sic] based on vicious rumors until all the facts are known. Thank you for all your support I really need it now."

Odom (6-5, 275) was the NFL's Defensive Player of the Month last September, and despite missing the final 10 games of the season to an Achilles' tendon injury, led the Bengals in quarterback sacks in 2009 with 8.

Reedy adds that Odom lost 20 pounds during the early stages of training camp, but had managed to gain most of the weight back.
