Bengals Claim CB DeAngelo Willingham Off Waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals have been awarded cornerback DeAngelo Willingham off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced on Thursday.

Willingham (6-0, 200) entered the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Tennessee. Willingham totaled 8 tackles for the Buccaneers during the 2009 pre-season, but was waived and claimed by both the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.

Awarded to the Cowboys, Willingham was released after a few days and the Patriots added him to their practice squad. Willingham spent two weeks on the Patriots' practice squad before being released on September 21.

The Seahawks added Willingham to their practice squad as part of a roster shake-up last November 3.
