Bears Name Mike Phair DL Coach

The Chicago Bears announced the hiring of Mike Phair for their defensive line coach vacancy.

Phair heads to Chicago after spending the last six seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

Originally hired in Seattle by former general manager Tim Ruskell, who is now the Bears Director of Player Personnel, Phair spent three seasons as an area scout before becoming Seattle's assistant linebackers coach in 2008.

Phair was an assistant defensive line coach in 2009, and was retained by new head coach Pete Carroll as a defensive assistant in 2010.

Phair replaces Eric Washington, who accepted the same position with the Carolina Panthers.
