49ers Add Three to Practice Squad

The San Francisco 49ers announced the additions of rookie free agent wide receiver Bakari Grant and guard Nick Howell, as well as third-year running back Xavier Omon to the team's practice squad.

Grant (6-4, 195) is an undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver from UC-Davis who caught one pass for 13 yards for the 49ers during the pre-season. The 6-5, 300-pound Howell played his college ball at USC and went to training camp with the Tennessee Titans.

Omon (5-11, 220) was a sixth-round pick (179th overall) out of Northwest Missouri State by the Buffalo Bills in 2008. Omon has 27 rushing yards in his career, which has also included brief stints with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.

San Francisco still has one open spot on its 53-man roster.
