Packers vs. Steelers - 2017 Game Predictions from CheeseheadTV.com

The CheeseheadTV Staff give you their predictions for the upcoming Packers vs. Steelers game.

 GAME PREDICTIONS - 2017 Week 12

Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Name Record   Pick Prediction
Andrew 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers 35-14
This game having to be in Primetime seems like unnecessary torture for Packers fans. Can they win? I suppose anything is possible, but you have a Steelers team whose defense has improved over the last month, Le'Veon Bell who can attack the Packers in a way that they're never good at defending, and Antonio Brown who's going to attack a secondary that is not great. All of this seems to indicate that this could be over by halftime.
Andy 5-5 Pittsburgh Steelers 34-10
Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. It’s tough to find a Green Bay victory in this game. If Green Bay pulls it off it’s going to take a +3 or better turnover margin. We will likely hear a lot more about Green Bay’s draft position starting after this game.
Chris P 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers 38-16
No delusions here. The Steelers are one the most talented teams in the NFL. Even with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, it would be tough. Maybe the Packers will play like they did in 2010 with Matt Flynn against the Patriots. But even a valiant effort isn't enough. It gets ugly in the 2nd half.
Chris W 4-6 Pittsburgh Steelers 23-19
If there’s a game that can get the Packers’ defense back on track, this is probably it. Joe Flacco gives the ball away a couple times and the pass rush finally breaks through, sending the Packers to 6-4 and keeping the playoffs within reach.
Cory 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers 31-13
The Steelers are rolling on all cylinders offensively and defensively right now. I don’t see how the Packers can stop and/or keep up with one of the top teams in the AFC.
David 7-3 Pittsburgh Steelers 30-17
For some undefinable reason, I think this could be an okay football game for a few quarters. When it comes down to it, though, the high-powered Steelers are too much against a Packers team that was shut out a week ago and has scored 20+ points once in five games under Brett Hundley.
Elisha 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers 35-17
I don't foresee the Packers slowing down the Steelers high-powered offense, and I don't think Hundley and the offense can score enough to keep the game close.
Jason 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers 27-10
Nobody is giving the Packers a chance in this one and they’re right.  How can we expect anything positive against an 8-2 team on the road after a shutout loss at home?
Jersey Al 5-5 Pittsburgh Steelers 29-13
The Packers were shutout and thoroughly embarrassed at home against the Ravens. Could it get worse? How about an away game in primetime against one of the NFL's hottest teams - yeah, this won't end well.
Michelle 5-5 Pittsburgh Steelers 27-13
At this point, it might be generous to expect that the Packers can put up a touchdown and two field goals. Brett Hundley has shown us that he’s capable of finding the end zone, but he’s only done so twice through the air in four games this season. Meanwhile, the Packers have virtually no backfield to speak of, through no fault of Jamaal Williams’. At this point it’s impossible to see the Packers finding a way to put up more points than the Steelers.
Ross 7-3 Pittsburgh Steelers 23-13
It’s much more difficult to believe now. Green Bay’s offense seems outmatched.
Zach 5-5 Green Bay Packers 26-24
With the way this NFL season has gone, the Packers are set up perfectly for a potential upset at Heinz Field on Sunday night. After a 23-0 loss, who would expect it? I have no reason for this pick.

If the prognosticators are correct it looks like the Bavarian Bierhaus in Milwaukee will be supplying a lot more FREE BEER Sunday night, they provide free beer until the Packers first score, where else besides Wisconsin could this offer ever be made ?

There's a mix up and the Steelers are told kick off is at 9. The Packers score 247 points before the Steelers show up and the Pack holds on for a 247 to 245 win.

The backs would fumble the ball, and Hundley would not be able to find a receiver or connect with a receiver.

For the first time since the 70s I can't see a chance for a Packers win. I'm not even sure that we will score for the second game in a row.

However, this game could reach garbage time early and the Steelers will protect Rothlisberger and some of their other starters so the Packers may score in garbage time.

I detest this but don't think this game will ever be close. Desperately hoping I'm wrong but it looks likes the
Steelers 37 - 6. Thanks, Since '61

There were a lot of games in the 80s that they had no chance as well.

That's true Tundra but the 80s were a little better than the 70s. We had Lynn Dickey who gave us a chance, then we had Randy Wright who was not very good and at the end of the decade we had the Majik Man who also gave us hope. Our chances were often poor I agree but at least we had some hope with Dickey and Majik. Today's game not so much. Thanks, Since '61

Lynn Dickey is the forgotten great QB in GB, I always feel badly for him.

He was a great QB on a team with absolutely zero defense.

We have too many injuries and erratic play from our many back-ups (Hundley, Spriggs, etc.) to even for a moment think we are in the same class as the Steelers.

The Steelers right now are my AFC favorite. This will be slow, painful and ugly....like chewing broken glass.

Steelers 31, Packers 10. R.I.P. to the 2017 season.

OMG...Is Spriggs playing?? Hasn't McCarthy learned Spriggs is clearly one of the top 5 worst draft picks under Thompson and believe me, there's A LOT to choose from! There HAS to be an UDFA Ted can sign and throw out there. What the Steelers are going to do to Spriggs will be the point of NO RETURN for Spriggs. He'll never recover from the abuse he's about to take Sunday Night.

As of now, it looks like McCray was a full practice participant on Thursday and Friday, so he'll play, however -- Linsley's back tightened up on him and he was limited Thurs. & Friday. If Linsley can't go, then McCray would play center and Spriggs would be at RT.

McCarthy can't be THAT stupid to leave Spriggs alone. It's so freakin' obvious the guy needs some TE or RB help to block. Linsley has said that he "would be fine," but I have my doubts that he can play the full game with his back like it is. Bending over and getting into that stance is going to hard on him.

Steelers roll, 45-10.

Pack get a fg early in the game with the scripted game plan. TD late in the 4th during garbage time.

Landry Jones gets reps at the end. It's possible the GB TD comes with Callahan in the game

The game flows exactly how we expect it to do so. Some early promise on our first possession followed by disaster from there on out. I don’t think the offense scores a TD, but there is a chance that fumble or a kick gets returned for six points. We fall behind early and try to play catch-up which results in more hundley panic and turnovers. Steelers let up early in the third quarter and finish this game 27-0.

"the Packers have virtually no backfield to speak of, through no fault of Jamaal Williams’."

If you mean numbers, then I agree. Jamaal Williams is actually a bad RB. He needs to play a lot of STs and play those snaps well to stay in the NFL.

My prediction is that the Packers will worry about injuries more, than wanting to win. Hundley gets creamed, and the concession stand serves a cream puff named after him.

Is there anybody in Packer nation that really thinks the Packers have a chance? Based on previous performances and our coaching staff we will see the same. Our offense scoring more then 3 points? Really come on people, do you really feel any confidence in them? I just don't think we can make it a game at all; fan since 58. You'll waych the game tonight snd just shake your head!! Only good thing is this game will further expose MM, DC, and no load TT. After the Bucs and Browns game will really put, or should put, the writing on the wall in plain English!!

Stillers 24 Packers 6. The defense turns in a admirable performance, forces a couple TOs but our game plan and play calling is atrocious. The 'Stillers' play ball control in the second half with Le'Veon and our d is on the field the whole game.

My prediction for the game is Steelers 41 Packers 9. Next I predict you will see MM standing on the sidelines with that I just plugged the toilet look on his face, and thinking next year I'm going to change the color scheme on his play playbook, that will work for sure. TT will be thinking about trading out out of first round next year thinking about how many 6 & 7 rounds pics he will get for the trade. DC will just take a nap.

Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster will be out. That means more targets for Martavis Bryant, their disgruntled former 1st rd pick. Him and Antonio Brown will be feasting on our secondary like a Thanksgiving dinner. If it's 24-0 at halftime, I'm going to bed. I'd rather get my sleep than watch my beloved Packers get slaughtered.
