Packers vs. Panthers Game Predictions from CheeseheadTV.com

 GAME PREDICTIONS Week 9

Green Bay Packers vs. Carolina Panthers

Name Record   Pick Prediction
Nagler 6-1 Green Bay Packers 27-22
The Packers have a history of bouncing back after bad games under McCarthy. (They also have a history of playing well coming out of a bye under Mike, but let's set that aside for now, shall we?) Rodgers and the offense will be able to operate mostly because the Panthers don't have much of a pass rush. The Panthers will score, but the Packers will win,
Czech 6-1 Green Bay Packers 26-17
The Packers under Mike McCarthy handle regular season adversity well. We'll see another example of that today as the Packers will take care of the Panthers on the road in a game that won't completely silence doubters of the green and gold, but will quiet them down a little bit.
Bracco 6-1 Green Bay Packers 19-17
The Packers will react to the media and fan firestorm after the "Debacle in Denver." They are tired of the questions and will come out with their best. However, Carolina is no pushover and this will a very hard fought game with Mason Crosby hitting the game-winning field goal in the last 2 minutes and the Packers defense making one final stand to bring home the road win.
Tallitsch 6-1 Carolina Panthers 31-20
It's not going to be pretty. The Packers drop another one in a big way. Then someone will say relax and we'll have to listen to it for another year. Yay.
Garda 6-1 Green Bay Packers 21-20
This one could go either way but I expect the Packers to bounce back from last week's mess. The defense they face is good but not as good as Denver's. The offense is limited, though Cam Newton and Greg Olsen are fierce weapons. At the end of the day, I think the Packers make that one big play on offense and one big stop on defense. We saw they can be beat when the Colts of all teams came back up on them. The Packers are no Colts team and can finish the job.
Behnke 6-1 Green Bay Packers 60-0
Packers roll.
Jennerjohn 7-0 Green Bay Packers 24-16
This game will be about Aaron Rodgers recognizing pressure from the edges and getting to the outside to buy him and his receivers time to keep the chains moving. Packers end the Panthers’ perfect season.
Perone 6-1 Carolina Panthers 31-23
There's an old saying "fool me once. . shame on you. . fool me, I can't get fooled again".  Show me something Packers!  The offense has to improve over last week's debacle, right?  They will, but they're facing another very good defense that will force quick decisions by Aaron Rodgers.  Even though Packers receivers aren't listening to all of the "noise" out there, there will be plenty of it and that makes for a tough day on the road.  The defense is banged up and I see another struggle to contain Cam Newton and the Panthers attack.  A big turnover late either turns into the difference or seals the win for the home team
Hodgson 6-1 Carolina Panthers 27-17
The Packers start to dig out of their hole, but there is still much work to be done
Snowden 6-1 Green Bay Packers 23-21
Hard to have faith in a lot of parts of this team after such a poor showing in Denver and a new rash of injuries, but if there's ever a time to pull out a nail biter, drag out win, the time is now.
Albrecht 6-1 Green Bay Packers 24-16
From the bottom up the Packers really realize that they laid a stinker in Denver. Redemption will be on their mind and pride leadership will be the calling card that day. The Packers are better equipped to contain Cam Newton than years past and a renewed running game (a healthy Lacy) will carry today.
Reuter 5-2 Green Bay Packers 38-13
I expect this game to be a blowout, I can see it going either way but I do not expect it to be close. I am picking the Packers in a route, 38-13. The last couple years when the Packers have had tackling issues in a game, they have rebounded the next game with a good performance. Despite Cam Newton being talked about as a MVP candidate, he is still widely inaccurate and I think the Packers get multiple picks on Sunday. The Green Bay offense also corrects itself this week as the passing game finds its new identity, looking similar to how they did against KC in week 3.
Olson 7-0 Green Bay Packers 23-20
The Packers typically don't lay two goose eggs in a row, at the very least expect to see more production on offense and a couple sacks as the Packers get back on track.
Hobbes 6-1 Green Bay Packers 21-13
The Packers typically don't lay two goose eggs in a row, at the very least expect to see more production on offense and a couple sacks as the Packers get back on track.
Strupp 5-2 Green Bay Packers 21-20
A different challenge for the Packers defense, but the Panthers wide receivers aren't quite at Denver level. Match up vs Greg Olson will be key.
Kruse 6-1 Green Bay Packers 23-20
Relax. Aaron Rodgers always bounces back, usually in a big way. Randall Cobb is the guy to watch—he had 121 yards and a score against Carolina last year.

Anyone going to be in Charlotte for the game? Going to miss the game blog, but for a good reason at least! Taking my Packer fan daughter to her first Packer game. They can't lose in her first game in person, right?

Rodgers and the offense get back on track. The defense finally shuts down the read option. Pack responds and makes a statement. I like the Pack 27 - 19. Thanks, Since '61

Since R. Rodger's father coaches for Carolina, I hope McCarthy doesn't show coach "camaraderie" with the Carolina coach and let R. Rodgers play all game.

Teams are attacking the middle of the field again. Burnett needs to play.

41-17 Pack.

Hobbes, get your shit together, you're embarrassing yourself...

"Unstoppable force meets unmovable object.  While that saying applies to the Packers offense while it goes up against the Denver defense, can the same be said about the Broncos offense going up against a surprisingly good defense?  As ironic as it is to say, if the Packers offense doesn't screw it up I don't think the Broncos offense can keep up.  Remember this is a Broncos team that struggled to win against Cleveland and had tight matches against Oakland and Minnesota."

Copy and paste is a helluva drug...

Hobbes...yeah, I was waiting for a great punchline at the end of your piece...then realized I was reading a glitch. I think something didn't get posted like an ICT glitch.

I'm disappointed in all writers. You all rely on "bounce-back' wishes and 'they don't lay eggs twice" "its time to pull one out" "they'll play for pride" BS stuff.

Only Perone, Jennerjohn ( and slightly Garda) actually give any objective rationale for their predictions.

Step it up guys. I'm wishful too, but c'mon, give me a reason to read this next week.

Packers lose this week, b/c there is no rationale for the contrary. Panthers can't pass rush? Wait till this week as GBP oline is porous. Panthers have no WRs to fear? Wait till this week, as GBP can't stop short-intermediate pass attack. The packers haven't played to a high level all year, and no reason that packers get it going this week. Car 27 GB 20

hope I'm wrong, and if I am, I'll take your insults well:)

I won't insult your opion, you mf'er commie(jk). It just goes against the odds for this team to play this bad. I have to believe they will perform a hell of a lot better than last week. They've played the Panthers and know them, so AR will and company have no excuses. Its no cake walk again and it will go down to the wire. My biggest worry is Olson, they need to shut him down. I predict a close win. 24-20.

I hope the Packers turn it around but if it's another embarrassing loss then I think it sets the tone for the rest of the season , we then have to look at Ted Thompson and wonder why with all the injuries he did not bring in some veteran help on both sides of the ball .

I believe Mr. Reuter is partially correct. Cam is playing well this year, but he can be inaccurate. However, his 4th quarter stats are quite good.

Also let Rodgers call all the plays I think he has earned that . I think most would agree .

Except Rodgers has said he doesn't want to call the plays. He prefers when the play is sent in and he then audibles as needed.

Aaron said two months ago that no QB call plays. It is very simple explanation why. Different plays needs different personal. No way QB on the field can know who is available at the moment when he calls plays. And that is only one of several issues that calling plays from field (not from side) will bring into the problem...
