Aaron Glenn's Jets are rumored to be considering retaining DL coach, Aaron Whitecotton. He interviewed with the Packers about a week ago. Saleh?
Not certain anyone knows where he will land yet. I think this may be a reason MLF hasn't talked about it.

Saleh is going back to SF to be defensive coordinator.

There are lots of assistants that other teams will hire and the Packers won't.

"Not certain anyone knows where he will land yet. I think this may be a reason MLF hasn't talked about it."

I think it's pretty common for HCs not to talk too much about the coaches on their staff taking other jobs. Hey, know what? Saleh wasn't even a coach on his staff!

@Dobber-that wasn't my point.

MLF isn't talking about it because both Whitecotton and Kacy Rodgers have chosen other teams-Lions and Jets.

In reference to Saleh, Whitecotton may have chosen Saleh over GB.
However, I think he's staying with the Jets.

Not a Getsy fan!, some comments evaluating Getsy as a coach.

Getsy’s odd blocking schemes, his bad spacing for receivers in the passing game, inconsistent play calls, and his conservative nature did his offense no favors.

If the Bears thought he sucked, I'll take him back in a heartbeat. They have no idea what they're doing down in Chicago. Luke Getsy won more games with Justin Fields at QB than the Bears won games with the number one pick in the draft and all the hype in the world.

Luke Getsy coming back? Great! Maybe we can get Joe Barry and Mo Drayton back too. Let’s hire all Flower’s buddies back instead of hiring competent coaches.

Kinda harsh to blame Getsy for the Bears sucking ass. I seem to remember pretty good offense with Getsy as a Packer.

But Getsy isn't one of LaFleur's "buddies" - he was initially hired by Mike McCarthy.

Yeah, people seemed to think Tom Clements was a pretty good get, even though he didn't distinguish himself as an OC.

Some coaches ascend past their best fit. I don't worry about Getsy as a position coach.

Whom ever is coaching, my hope is that they figure out how they wish to play offense- you touched on that today with the shotgun or under center but it is much more than that. The offense went so stagnant last year. Love is not nearly as nimble as Willis and he has a tiny bit of windmill to his throws and it showed in how Lafluer called the game. It is possible Love was dinged up all year but they didn't make significant changes to remedy some of that. Recall in 2014(?) when Rodgers got hurt down the stretch and M3 retolled the offense mid game. My point being they don't seem to have the chapter on adversity football well filled out. How is that in the division games- press man and blitz meant 3 and out. Even the Bears had them stumped. Watching the Rams kill the Vikings demonstrated how to do it and he is certainly no gazelle. I hope they draft a WR who can catch the freaking ball!

What you're talking about is what I refer to as "in-game adjustments." It's one of MLF's weaknesses, and why I say he's a great OC but not HC. I don't care who gets called what, but that duty as well as clock management and coach's challenges need to be handled by somebody else.

So how many DCs should the Packers have?

So no infusion of new ideas and talent. Cant help feeling it’s the safe, easy option (for LaFleur).

He's now coached the last few. years in a couple different places with different players and assistants. It's not as if they're solely promoting from within...and as noted above, Getsy isn't LaF's guy, even though they have worked together.

It's not as if they're bringing back Nathaniel Hackett.

Getsy was not LaFleur’s guy originally, but they spent a long time together. Wasn’t he supposedly the first choice for OC before Stenavich was appointed?

I’m somewhat bemused that he’s deemed not to be an MLF guy simply because he wasn’t originally hired here by him. These connections aren’t born but acquired over time.

Many of these top coaches like Whitecotton & K Rodgers are snapped up quickly. @ least GB did interview both.
Hafley may have had input.

Though the DL coach needs to be the right choice, I am just as concerned about the lackluster, offensive coaching
I don't see signs of 'offensive 'urgency' yet-lol.

Getsy is likely a comfortable presence but I don't see him as a strict, innovative QB coach nor does he seem like an appreciable upgrade to Stenavich.

The 'OC' position in GB is faulty in the first place--it's mostly a admin assist job though Stenavich also calls run plays? Is he the best person to do that?

Luke Getsy would be the ultimate meh hire. You can always count on Nagler to put a positive spin on any move the Packers make or might make.

"You can always count on Nagler to put a positive spin on any move the Packers make or might make."

Now, that's just 100% false! You can't always count on Nagler for anything, except being wrong.
