Andy, a FA O-lineman I had interest in was former Browns first round pick OT Jedrick Wills. He was a still young reclamation project who has started more than 50 games for the Browns, who misused him badly. He missed all of 2025 after tearing ACL and would be a good player to sign cheap. The Bears thought the same thing and signed him over the weekend for $1 million.
Any Free Agents we sign have to be reasonable, that's the bottom line. We need an Edge, a TE, a CB, & maybe OL. That's probably why the Sweat trade won't work.
Sweat would be a great pickup for GB if we could work out a trade for him, and restructure his contract. Some WR trades have been floated as the Cardinals need a slot receiver. The cost would be J Reed, a cheaper, younger talented WR that GB might not be able to afford. I would sign A J Epenesa instead for $4-5 million, keep Reed, and get an upgrade from Enagbare and Gary. Then draft an Edge like Dani Dennis-Sutton in round 3.
A better trade would be another one that has been floated, trading Wickes for Kaivon Thibodaux-Giants Edge. But only if it was pre-arranged to restructure his contract because he isn't worth paying him $15 million next year. A 3 year deal for $7-10 million would work. But Epenesa is a more proven commodity.

I like Moore too Stock. If GB had addressed their biggest need in the draft last year, that being CB, we could take a top Edge and fill that hole cheaper than a vet. It is mind boggling that the Packers have not selected a CB before the 7th round since we drafted Stokes. We need to fix 1 thing at a time and CB is a bigger need because all we have are below average NFL CBs.
We didn't address the other biggest need last year, DT, but the Top 4 went before we picked. Everyone was enamored with the question, "Is this the year GB finally takes a first round WR?"
The sad truth is we had opportunities to trade back and probably still draft the Golden, or Higgins who would have been a better fit in GB. While gaining extra picks for an Edge or a Center.

Why in the world would GB have any interest in Anthony Richardson, and give up a draft pick to get him. Desmond Ridder is definitely a better QB, and I think the QB we have on the practice squad has way more talent too. He had a great senior year @ Syracuse and make fast decisions.
Fields was just traded to the Chiefs for a 6th round pick, and the Jets paid most of his 2026 salary. That's the way to make a trade for a player you want. The Chiefs identified a player that could help them, found him on a bad team that makes bad decisions, and stole him to fill a big need while Mahommes is recuperating. I predict Fields will benefit greatly playing behind a great QB for the first time, and he will be a starter in 3 years. Fields is head and shoulders above Richardson as a QB.
To me Epenesa or Clowney would be great moves for GB, either would be upgrades over Enagbare and Gary. Epenesa is younger and could be signed for 3 years $15 million. Both better options than Sweat for the obvious financials.
CB is still a big need but I think we can find a cheap younger vet who has played and started a lot for under $3 million per year. Or a fallback signing of Rasul Douglas would be a good get for under $3 million and he is better than what we have now.
Give me Antonio Gibson over Kamara. Younger, cheaper, the same type of complete back. Gibson projected to sign a minimum deal.
Darnell Washington has been woefully underused in Pittsburg and he has great hands. I like moving Musgrave and a late 2027 pick for Washington but I doubt they trade him. Musgrave is a liability that we won't give another contract too. Maybe Zach Ertz for $2 million.
