We are stuck in ground hogs day of just being good enough that no one gets fired.
14th title seems far away.

The Packers leadership appears to be a classic case of a closed community feeding off its own hype while gradually becoming less competitive. If one believes one’s own excuses then it’s amazing how much perceived reality becomes warped over time in an organization.
For this to happen generally required no strong consistent external scrutiny (a quality board appointed to challenge not simply agree) or external hires. That’s the Packers. In the end, it’s a function of the overall leader.
Typically this continues until the real world bites hard enough that performance failures become so severe that the fictions are blown apart irredeemably and urgent, painful and costly surgery is required to save the patient and start the long climb back to health.

That outlook would be fair if they were failing. They're not failing. The plans are sound. The luck less so. Give me that team with Kraft and Parsons for a full season and we can talk. The only issue for me is that LaFleur is falling in player observations. And some, (likely on the defense) don't have much respect for the coordinator of the offense.

You think they are succeeding? I understand that injuries hurt, but they always do, and while ours last year were painful, we really were not as injured as we often conclude. By any measure, we were middle of the league in games lost by starters. Even before them those losses we misfired more than we ignited. In any case, it’s not just last year, it’s the last half decade or more of repeating traits and issues.
I’m interested that you think the lack of respect for LaFleur (more so Stenavich) reflected in the NFLPA poll comes from the defensive side mostly. Why do you think that?
That said, if 2027 proves me wrong, great. Currently I don’t see any particular basis for assuming we will be radically more consistent, disciplined, productive or evolve significantly in terms of method and philosophy.

I think it because of Hafley's numbers. The whole team seems to think Hafley got it done.

They had Musgrave, a two pick and Gary a guy snagged at #12 who should have been contributors. He was very lucky Kraft fell to the Packers. He was always the superior talent coming out of SD State. He was a NFL prototype; Gary not so much compared to Brian Burns, or Montez Sweat. You reap what you sow, no excuses.

I'm with Pete on this one. I was leaning toward starting over at head coach and reverting to having the GM in charge of all football operations, but I understand why Policy opted to continue with the current leaders under the same structure. Time will tell if this was the correct decision.
With the Micah Parsons signing, the team has just started a big push to make a run at a championship in the next 2-3 years. Also, there appears to be a very good coach/QB dynamic. That might not have continued with a new head coach. So firing LaFleur could have been a classic case of switching horses in mid-stream. I hope Policy got it right.
As Pete says, Policy will almost certainly be held accountable if he blew this decision, whereas if the Packers had an owner, he would not be held accountable. (Look no farther than Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to see what that can look like, and there are other examples that are far worse than that one.)

They just made a blockbuster trade that was a swing for the fences. No they are not complacent. If trading for a top 3 defender is being complacent than what does it look like when they try?
Fans have the memory of a goldfish and don't seem to understand that everyone has the same goal and only one team goes home happy. If we just fired everyone on a winning team you will end up like the Browns or Jets.

Some goldfish here have very long memories, as one would know if the comments are read consistently. Much better than mine! Of course, some don’t. Some weren’t around to get them either. There are some advantages I could see to being a goldfish in the LaFleur era, just not on the football field.

Thank you for common sense! Fans seem to think that because the Packers underachieved in ‘25, the leadership is okay with that.
Under that kind of thinking, SEA would have dumped Schneider years ago. Instead they stuck with a guy they believed in and he took them to a Title after several years of poor to middling results.
There are so so many worse GMs and HCs out there and GB could have fired the group and derailed Love’s career with guys who aren’t as good as the guys we’ve got.

@ least half of these comments are from Packer's PR members.
One cannot critique the Packer Brass-GB media knows that-
Let the Spin continue-that is the only truth here. I'm wondering how far GB will have to fall before someone steps in. My guess is at least 4 more years- 'Multi-year' probably means 4 years-God forbid it is 5

I don't think Pilot was shooting for mediocrity directly. I think he was scared to fire MLF when there was a lot of excuses to be made due to all the injuries. But that overlooks all of MLF failures.
Listen to Andy's podcast on MLF after the season. I don't see how anyone listens to that and keeps MLF. Except a new president in the GB organization where you don't shake things up too much. It's too hard for us to judge Gute but getting Parsons does indeed show he can will pay for excellence. It seems like almost all the talking heads say if they had to do it, they would part with MLF - but they understand giving him a chance.
So once again, MLF has another chance to show if he can change. He has to change in order to be successful. Not just given another chance.
I hope Pilot can say "I told you so" next year.

If you do not have a good NFL OL....
If you do not have a good NFL DL...
If you do not have a good NFL CB group...
If you do not have a good NFL DE group..
You are not a contender and you are wasting a lot of money on a Defensive player like Parsons.
We have some pretty good LB's
We have some pretty good WR's
We have some pretty good Safeties
We have a potential Elite QB1 with the right protection.
We have a stud RB.
We have a stud TE that is still mending.... Need a Vet TE
It's pretty hard to get this turned around fast enough for us to get some real shots with JL to win a trophy with the hits in the draft the way they are and not enough $ to fill in the misses.....GB is far removed from AR MVP teams....but our WR group and TE are better.
