GB cannot make the mistake again of taking a CB who is better in the slot than the boundary. Hobbs gets a bonus in March of $6 million. I don't know how that affects the savings of $8.8 million if we cut or trade Hobbs on June 1st.

I don't think GB can afford any $14 million Free Agents. CBs we should target in free agency will be cheap projects or older vets that are better than what we have and less than $5 million. Even average or slightly above average CBs in GB would really benefit when Parsons comes back. The problem now is our current CBs are below average NFL CBs.

We had so few interceptions last year that it would be great to see some ball-hawks in GB. We have great Safeties and need better CB play.

Everybody's talking about what GB supposedly can't afford. This is completely unknown, and can easily change by almost $100MM.

The CB room needs a complete re- make. Surely Gutey realizes this?

"The CB room needs a complete re- make. Surely Gutey realizes this?" Well SIC, CB was the #1 need last year along with DT, and Gutey ignored it last year too. And now we can add OL and make it a BIG 3 of needs.

We have virtually no talent in the CB room now, even Nixon is a below average NFL CB. Hobbs was a huge mistake, he isn't even an actual boundary CB. He is better as a Slot CB that misses 1/3 of the season every year.

The bad news is we have no 1st round pick, but we suck at those anyway.
The good news is unless a Top 5 CB falls to # 52, we can probably trade back for more picks and still get a Top 10 CB.

Depending on who may fall to us in the 2nd round, and what picks we can gain by moving back, our first 3 picks need to be CB first, OL or DT with the 2nd and 3rd picks.

I think this is the key point: the Packers will clear enough cap space to do business next year, and the first year of a multi-year deal can be manipulated to keep the actual cap hit well below the AAV. Hobbs counted $6M against the cap last year (AAV $12M). Aaron Banks counted $9M v. an AAV of about $19M. They'll likely be able to sign several "value" FAs that don't count very much against the cap, but the holes they generate to be able to do business are going to be an issue, too.

They can't heap all their key needs on their limited draft capital, and while I think they deal for more picks, they can't deal themselves out of the money rounds for volume and hope that they're still going to draft guys they can expect to improve the team for '26.

Buying any free agents will be difficult for GB this year unless they do some real contract magic. Upgrades almost have to come from the draft or really favorable trades. Ideally, if we can find a partner to move back for extra picks, we should be able to draft a very solid CB with our first pick. We probably need at least 2 in the draft and maybe a couple of the best UFDAs brought to camp.

Davison Igbinosun, Malik Muhammad, Hezekiah Masses, Will Lee III, and Treydan Stukes who I really like should all be available in that 52-82 range.

Later CBs like Tacario Davis, Domani Jackson, Daylen Everette, Ephesians Prysock, and Dontae Balfour would be good early day 3 options. Nebraska has 2 late round CBs that are pretty good also.

This CB hole that we find ourselves in should have been addressed last year when it was the co-biggest need along with DT. Now OL is right there with those other big needs. The draft is our best friend this year and will be a challenge if we can't find some more mid round picks.

I like Muhammad. May have to move up into the third , or bottom of Rd Two to bag this guy. Waiting in line at the grocery store may leave you with leftovers.

I would be fine with moving back from #52, gaining 2 picks, and drafting Muhammed. He is the better of the 2 Texas CBs. Stukes from Arizona is also a good one, 6'2 200lbs 4.4s.
