Andy, I'm glad to hear you say next game should be treated like the preseason. Rest most starters, develop depth. I especially want to see Collin Oliver. Yesterday someone here pointed out that once you're in the playoffs, players aren't usually motivated. That certainly looked to be the case, but MLF was trying to win going by the fact that he played every starter he could.
I have to wonder if this overall team collapse convinces Malik to go anywhere else just to get off this team, and if that might have a similar effect on FAs we might want to keep. I don't know that #2 would have decided a career in GB was in his best interest, but if the team gutted out a win streak to end the season that could only help, right?
Hindsight makes it easy for me to say I was right, and having #8 dressed for games but only sending him in when nothing else was working once his knee became a problem would have been better personnel management. Emanuel Wilson was more effective last night, I guess playing on a knee the size of a basketball is a time limited option? Who knew.
There were a few surprisingly good solo stops of King Henry, including by LVN. Not that I'm suggesting that earned anyone a positive defensive grade overall. Henry broke the all time record for rushing over 200 yards in a game, 7 x in his career. (So far) I'll be interested to see your analysis of defensive coaching / game plan / playcalling in this game, I didn't see anything I could recognize as putting people in position to populate to the ball. It seemed like he was blocked into an open field with nobody in his way all game long.

GB media needs to include Gutekunst (roster construction) in this abject failure

I do feel like this team needs new leadership. Gute has really never built a strong defensive line since he has been here. His O line drafts have not been good. And the play of both lines last night and mostly this year have been terrible. The run blocking has not been good and forget about the pass blocking.
We can all cry about injuries and things happen but what is up with this team this year? I don't see other teams with this many injuries, and serious injuries at that.
But all in all, this team reflects it's leadership and the lack of progress over these past 3 years I can only lay at the feet of Gute and MLF.
Time for a change

Look the packers have two more games. The vikes will handle them easily and whomever they play in the first playoff game will beat them handily. Its what happens after that where I see problems.
1. The Vikes will end up with 9 victories (5 wins in a row) and had QB issues all year, even using a third stringer. But they have that vaunted defense that aint going away any time soon. Give them a QB and they can rule the NFC North next year.
2. The bears (11-5) just gave the niners all they wanted and almost won at the last minute. Williams is coming around and did well tonight without his best receiver. He made passes Love could only dream about making. The Bears D needs a little tweaking via the draft and they will be a dominant team for years to come.
3. The Lions are toast. They lost very good coaches, had numerous injuries all around due to imo smallish players who cant take an NFL beating. Still healthy they can take the pack down but6 they arent going anywhere, their time has come and gone the window for the SB is closed for them.
4. The packers are a mess of a team. Even healthy, the run game is average, the O line average, the pass rush below average, the pass defense is a an d- and the special teams can screw up a with the best of them. I dont beleive there is one pro bowler on this team. I dont beleive we have play makers who make a difference in games except possibly Watson but how long does his health last.
We know all know Love is average at best and spends most of his time worrying about the pass rush and his ass being planted. He learned to throw the ball away and or pass for a five yarder and ignore any open receivers to get the ball away before being planted. Rodgers showed him how to do that.
It will take years to revamp this team. Fans better get used to this.
