I'm not watching another overly long analysis that self-limits to repeating what you've been told is 'how things are done', or 'rarely do NFL teams do X', or 'O my, the salary cap'; or worst of all 'we caaaan't'. Just because some teams some times do X or Y. Parroting the reason or rhyme you've heard before doesn't make it in the Packers' best interest. Look at the 'rationale' for Charlotte shoveling a $billion+ -- to a billionarie -- from the small business fund. They only greenlighted that because "other cities did it this way" NOT because it was in the city's interest. Repeating what you've been told is not analysis.

OTOH, Gutey is unpredictable as hell. Pack made no move whatsoever for Davante Adams or DK Metcalf, b/c why would they? Mea Culpa here, I was totally wrong on Micah Parsons, & sure as hell didn't think he'd toss in Kenny Clark as a sweetener. We all have limits.

So:

Find us another wide receiver who's PROVEN he'll step in and be as reliable, clutch, and in-system as Romeo Doubs. Then you can talk. No questions we've got a loaded WR corps. No question they'll all blossom & hit stride this sesaon. But no way Watson our Savior, Reed is where now? on IR. And our other guys? We need them all--and nothing's preventing us from carrying a full WR corps .. . with the guy who earned it secure in his role. Throw away our one solid guy is just Jack-in-the-Beanstalk territory. Keep your 6 magic beans--or show us the money.

Romeo Doubs has already garnered attention from two teams

-Watson is like Jaire-net availability 30% He is only a luxury, not a reliable.
-Wicks is not a good route-runner
-Reed's ability comes and goes
-Likely a reason Love goes to Doubs

Let it play out, but he will be snatched in Free Agency.

Talking off season talk when the season has just begun?
One caution for me on Doubs is he's wearing the cushion cap (wisely) which suggests he may be "one more concussion" away from having to hang it up.

Doubs wears it so teams think he slower.

Also it keeps his head level so he doesn’t have drops.

Also when we sign him next year he can wear that to the bank.

I think he should get a commercial for that and promote it for young kids and give me 10 percent kick back for the idea.

Does the pro shop sell those. Would be nice for winter gear.

With the amount of targets each guy gets in this offense , it's impossible to have a true #1. When targeted 3 to 5 times a game there is no way to put up # 1 stats.
