Gonna have to outscore people. I am sure everyone is thrilled about the WR but the defense will largely be sending the same guys out there hoping for a better result.

We had the #6 scoring defense last year. What better result are you looking for? Giving up zero points?

Now look at how they did against playoff teams that finished with better records than the Packers? You think there's no room for improvement?

"Gonna have to outscore people." Yeah, that's how you usually win games I believe.
Please don't imply you know what I think. Of course there is always room for improvement. I never said there wasn't. I just don't think improving the 6th best scoring defense is what the team should be focusing on.

Gar...ya beat me to that one.

Added Hobbs. Got two--three, depending on how you see it--second-year starters (Williams, Bullard, and Cooper) and an LVN who can improve. Cox had 4 sacks in 7 games a year ago, all after P. was traded...can he get to 9 or 10 in 17? Hafley gets the benefit of knowing his players and what they can do leading into a second year as a DC.
There's plenty of room for growth in a young defense.

Bring back a GM like Ron Wolf. The Packers were 1-5 against the teams in their own division last season, have they improved their roster in free agency and 2025 draft to come back and win the NFC North division next season...? I'm not so confident they have, I guess will know more during preseason... GPG.

Ron Wolf, who hired Ray Rhodes, then hired Mike Sherman, and subsequently promoted him to GM. That Ron Wolf? Hard pass.

So, you'd rather bring back a GM like Tom Braatz? Is that what you're saying?

Wonder what Hafley thinks? Even if Alexander is retained, one can expect more of the same 30% availability.

Not sure, but if you can find out what Hafley thinks *and* what he feels, please report back ASAP.

My report: Hafley will find greener pastures; a team with a real DLine, several competent CB's and a strong Offense.

More than likely, he'll either be back in 2026 or hired away to be a HC to turn around a team that just fired their previous guy and has none of the things you're listing.

If LaFleur fails badly after all these presents via the draft, maybe Hafley stays here as HC.

PFF PACKER Draft grade: B-

Almost all grades are useless until 2-3 years out. That's when you know how the team did in the draft. Will a 5th rounder become a starter? Will the 2nd rounder get injured right away and end his career? I am happy with how the Packers did and training camp will sort out the starters for week #1.

The "unicorn" statement by Andy is very accurate. More like Lightning and Thunder! I am wondering if Savion will be our next Sterling Sharpe against the North's DBs. He has got to improve the concentration on the catch first, though.
