With the addition of a solid not too expensive CB (16 guaranteed), we are better than we were last season as Hobbs is better than Stokes. In summary: Alexander stays and gives us a good season, addition of a high draftee, Valentine experienced backup. Conclusion, a solid and deep D backfield.

Hobbs has had his own injury problems and is a very poor tackler.

Hobbs is not a very poor tackler. He’s made a great deal of them, mostly from the slot, so often at a physical disadvantage. He could definitely improve his technique. That would take him from a very good tackler for a CB who is too hit and miss and move him to a definite plus as a tackler for a corner.

Hobbs, in 11 games last year, got in on 49 tackles.
Eric Stokes, in 17 games, got in on 41.
Alexander , in 7 games, got in on 16 (15 solo, as in his guy caught the ball and he tackled him).
Nixon, in 17 games, got 88.
Valentine, in 17 games, for 32 tackles.
It looks to me like the eager tacklers are Nixon and Hobbs. Some guys seek out the contact, and others don't.
