I think the cap increase and overpaying cbs.
Should keep Jaire in GB. 1 last year.

I think the cap increase--which works for everyone--will not change the Packers' plans for free agency or for JA. Personally, I think that if they have any plans to try to sign a FA CB, they wait to make any move on JA at least until after the first couple weeks of FA pass and they know if they strike pay dirt. If I were BG, I wouldn't be digging a deeper hole if I didn't need to...and I'd be pressing JA to take a pay cut.

If anything, I think the cap increase will be driving up costs on FAs and on extensions and might force the Packers to clear cap space this off-season (not good for JA in GB) to try to lock down core young players who come up after 2025 rather than running too close up against another big increase for 2026. Any young player whose contract is up after 2025 and is a key part of this window (ahem...Tom) should be extended by mid-season.

There was a good article on Acme Packing about JA and the Packers. Alexander is not due any roster bonuses or significant lump sum payouts this year so there is no "drop dead" date for a decision on JA. The Packers can simply wait out free agency and then pressure Alexander to renegotiate his contract if they don't sign a free agent CB of their own.

Much better position than the Browns who have Garrett demanding to be traded but his contract also calls for a very large ($18MM) lump sum payment in mid-March if the Browns try to keep him. Garrett has the Browns over a barrel.

Yes, best time to cut Jaire is next year when the fear of cap will be clear.

Yes- because if he
comes up with a injury again.
He'll make peanuts.
