His cap hit is $25M and he has played in only 7 games in each of the last 2 seasons, so no he doesn't have any trade value.

Some good info in the podcast re: cost to keep Alexander. $17M for 2025 is a big risk. The whole situation comes down to whether they think JA can get past his recurring injury cycle. Is he worth the big contract if he's healthy? Yes.
Do they have enough on the roster right now to replace him at a high level? Not at this point.
Can they find someone just as good for $17 million? Maybe.
Also, any trade partners will ask the same questions and assume the same risks if they acquire him. That will drive his trade value way down.
IMO, they need to have a long discussion with the team's medical staff and have a thorough understanding of his medical condition. If he has a good chance to return healthy, I'd keep him and pray he stays healthy.
They don't have any proven replacement waiting to step in if they trade or cut him.

He was so good and so promising in his early years. Even if the skills and ability are still there, he's unreliable. No longer a tackler. Too often sidelined with injury. He's also not the veteran leadership presence you want. There's some head case stuff that seems evident and not good for the culture of a young team. They're not going to get much, but anything they get is worth it...time to cut bait on this one.
