Alexander will cost too much to retain, for 6-7 games. Because that's 40% availability.

There's no guarantee he'd be healthy once again just like there's no guarantee he'd be just 40-50% injured once again but there is a body of work and track record to go off. The cost/benefit analysis tilts too much in favor of that. The body is older and worn and there's significant injury history. There's that and all the indications of possible unhappiness that goes with it.

It's better to part ways a year too early rather than a year too late. Great player and great Packer and one of the best draft picks of this modern era front office but, sorry.
