Guys I think when you analyze every teams draft you’ll find most teams results are poor. Taking a shot at Gutes draft is fine but if you research all teams drafts most are equal or poorer to his.

Correlation between Draft Position and "Starter Status"
Using Pro Football Reference as a resource, I looked at all players who were classified as starters at the beginning of the 2014 season to determine what round they were drafted in upon entering the league.  Of the 595 players designated as such, the results reveal the following:

Nearly 30% of all starters were 1st round draft picks when drafted into the league;
-          Roughly 30% were taken in either the 2nd or 3rd round;
-          Roughly 26% were taken in either rounds 4 through 7;
-          Undrafted players (14%) were the 3rd most likely group to comprise 2014’s starters…only behind 1st round (30%) and 2nd round (18%) picks.

20 years counted.
According to Pro Football Reference, most drafted players are busts. the only problem with their system is they don’t take into account the round they where picked. But anyway…
16.7% don’t even end playing for the drafting team (20 years average)
37% are considered ‘useless’, or busts.
5.3% are ‘poor’. Busts such as Jamarcus Russell are here.
So 69% are ‘poor’ or worst.
10.5% average
12.3% good
6.8% great
1% legendary
That gives 20.1% good. 2 out of 10.

Well said, I’d call that established, basic NFL knowledge, but it clearly doesn’t seem to be understood in this instance.

Thank GOD you guys are not running this franchise. Firing gute and Murphy because your star player is upset is absolutely moronic.

Rodgers has maybe 3 years left. Your willing to throw away a team president and GM for a 38 year old player. You’re setting a terrible precedent and setting your franchise up for failure

Rodgers has had problems getting along with McCarthy now gutey and you’re suggesting Murphy. Maybe Rodgers is the problem. The same narcissism that helps him on the field causes problems with those who have authority over him.
No successful business is ran this way

I’d trade Rodgers for Gute and Murphy in a second, we can do better than them, can you say the same for Rodgers ? The only reason we’ve been successful is through his arm, not because of their great work, and the whole reason we’re in this mess is because of their incompetence..

I'd fire Gute regardless. Don't clean house to late. We can get anybody to run this franchise. Since when is the top Brass more important then the players on the field.

The Franchise is more important and has distinct and different interests from those of players. A franchise that loses sight of that is in a great deal of trouble.

I like good, well argued opinion opposed to mine, it’s what challenges and stimulates ideas. We are not all here to agree . Having said that, this was Possibly the biggest pile of drivel I’ve heard in years. Won’t be back after that. Simply not tenable at the foundational level let alone what you attempted to fabricate on that.
