WR Elijah Moore - High floor, high ceiling, low risk.

CB Eric Stokes - Low floor, high ceiling, high risk.

Which player would you draft at pick 29?

Moore strikes me as a rich man's version of Amari Rodgers. Packers wanted to use its R2 pick to select Rodgers. They ended up drafting him in R3 by also sacrificing their first pick in R4. Why not take the better player, Moore, in R1 and keep your two picks in R4? They could have found a developmental CB at pick 62 and Myers would have been there in R3.

They also could have traded up in R1 to get either CB Newsome or WR Bateman.

I will be extremely surprised if Elijah Moore doesn't become a top NFL WR almost immediately and barring serious injury, a long and productive career - basically a WR1 that will double as the best slot WR and gadget guy in the league. Last year we let Claypool get away and this year it is Elijah Moore. Gutey has a strong tendency to take players who fill needs and he does so one round too early. That gives away lots of draft capital.

I like E Moore too but liked R. Moore better. However, I have no issue with Stokes being picked.

The O is already high octane and even if it is Love under center he will have a strong supporting cast. I simply do not see any concrete evidence E. Moore will provide any great incremental value over Amari Rodgers.

The D, while displayed better numbers this year, even casual fans believed it would not rise up and make a stop at critical junctures. In fact, I would argue the D was better on the stat sheet this year because the O kept them off the field. The Packer D has the lowest number of plays in the NFL last season.

And I do see Stokes bringing huge incremental value on the field over Sullivan and King...at those critical junctures when you need a stop. King was painful to watch at times in the NFCCG.

I'm actually thrilled with what the Packers did, Archie. I preferred STOKES over NEWSOME, and I prefer RODGERS over MOORE.

Stokes is more reliable, available. I don't understand how some can complain on this site about Kevin King and then want Greg Newsome, who played in 6 games in 2018, 8 games in 2019 and just 3 games in 2020. Add to that, Stokes had more Tackles, Sacks, INTs and PDs than Newsome, while playing the best of the best in the SEC.

I believe player availability is a more highly regarded draft quality under Gutekunst than it was previously, and it should be a big factor in their decision making.

Amari Rodgers and Elijah Moore had virtually identical receiving stats, but Rodgers' offerings on jet sweeps & rushing in general was double the production of Elijah Moore. That is what we wanted, was multiple use component. Again, on PR/KR, Amari Rodgers 5-9 212 nearly doubles the production of Elijah Moore 5-9 178.

Getting Rodgers in R3 was a steal. The trade up to take him was minimal. THAT's great value. We'll see down the road for real, but statistically, these look like wins. From a physicality standpoint, these look like wins. In Stokes' case, I believe there is no comparison. Stokes looks like a steal to me to be honest. I thought he would go higher.

I appreciate the breakdown, Jake & Ross!

I agree. However Gutey did give up his first 4th to move up to get him higher in the 3rd. And I was pleased he did it.

When you go into day two and land BOTH players you had targeted...Myers and Amari Rodgers....that is a good day.

Yeah, I realized my error after reading it. Thanks, LambeauPlain! I was initially referring to no R1 trade up, as Archie had proposed. I had forgotten about the R4 pick.

FWIW, Amari Rodgers was #2 on Mel's Best Available Board when we made the Myers pick at 62... he was still there at 85.

I do not like Newsome's injury list. All I see is KK part 2. Stokes is a solid CB with a lot of upside. Some good NFL coaching and there will be a steel dome where passes go to die.

If no one else is gonna say it, I legit had to stop the podcast because I was giggling so hard about the quiz, especially once you got to Amari Rodgers.
