JL10 didn't have footwork problems until he played behind a leaky O line, always having defenders in his face a split second after getting rid of the ball at best. If the O line is dominant all the way across, he'll have a breakout season.

Yes, it is great that we now have Parsons, but imho, Love is the straw that stirs the drink. And by the way, that drink is a Southern Comfort Old Fashioned~;-))

LaFleur is the one who needs to have a breakout season in my mind. We need to see an O that integrates the run and pass better, rather than oscillating between them, and attacks the field between 5 and 20 yards consistently rather than relying on deep plays and lateral dump offs.

We need more from our TEs offensively and by design. We need to run block much more effectively and pass protect and use scheme to promote this not make it more difficult by allowing teams to pack the first ten yards or rely on long developing plays. We need to start games well and be consistent through them.

Get the design and calling right and Love’s job becomes very much easier. Reduce the 3rd and longs and reliance on big plays and any QB gets better, physically, technically and in terms of decision making. Our opposing QB on Sunday is a clear illustration of that.

There is a lot of agonizing going on about whether the Pack D can stop the run. With good reason. But if the offense and Love in particular get it together and get the Pack in front in games then the other team can't run as much. This O's performance can very much help the D ratchet up the pressure.

Yes, he needs to clean up his footwork and throwing angles. He needs to be patient and take what is given to him more often than not. No more hero ball. Manage the game. He needs to run for short first downs too. He's pretty athletic and could move the chains easily when the play breaks down if he just runs for it. Early Rodgers did this with ease. He needs to see the field better when he has a wide open 85 or 8 just sitting in a soft zone waiting for the ball while he instead opts to throw deep into double coverage.

MLF needs to coach him better too while being way more demanding of him.

He has the arm and the talent. He just needs to manage the game more and fix his bad habits. This will lead to way more consistency.

The article says he broke out in 2023...but then says he didn't. I don't know how we can say that 4100 yards and 32 TDs is not a breakout, even if the bulk only happened in half a season. Would we view it differently if the weaker and stronger performances were more evenly distributed across that year? Sounds like yes...which is silly.

JL had an 'break-out' year because a number of teams underestimated him and didn't prepare (Cowboys) adequately. Since then he has been thoroughly scouted.

BTW-he didn't break his thumb, he has either a torn or damaged thumb ligament which required surgical repair.

The competence of the OLine and MLF's preparation/competence will affect Love.

The Packers’ success will depend more on MLF coaching up his team than on Love’s footwork. And now. With the Parsons “Hail Mary” trade, MLF’s and Gutekunst’s future with the Packers will be on the line ( or maybe not, given the Pack’s history of “slow walking” coaching and front office changes). We’ll have a pretty good idea of whether the team is moving forward or not by the bye week.

I have a much lower expectation for JL improvement.

Love will have a breakout season that will make his other seasons look meek if MLF will put and keep the best five in front of him and they can stay healthy. We have the talent and depth this season to really cook. I can't imagine what this new line will be able to do for Jacobs, and I bet he's excited. If these things happen, you could have an FBS backup rookie QB with a breakout season.

I say you'e seen his peak and its not going to get any better. It is what it is. Our concern should be, why Parsons? The only reason they decided he was a must have, the defensive back field is filled with nobodys and teams will pass pass pass on us so if we get a Parsons, they wont have time to pick us to death. Concerning one small tidbit in the article, how much of a vocal leader does Love need to be? His personality is cerebral and somewhat cool, so I don't think it makes any sense to turn him into something he's not. Love is never going to be confused with the nitpicking taskmaster demeanor of ARod or the more gung-ho style of Favre. We already have vocal leaders on offense like Jacobs, and once Golden gets going, he might have that potential as well.

The main thing for Love is to improve his accuracy (both short and long), minimize bad decisions, and use his legs more when the opportunity arises. He does this and he'll be fine.

Once Upon A Time, there was A Plan. The 1265 brass, including Gutekunst and Murphy and LaFleur, said "Let's squeeze what we can out of Rodgers. We'll protect him and take some of the load off him with guys like Davante Adams and Aaron Jones. Meanwhile, we'll look for an opportunity to draft a guy, develop him for a couple of years, and he'll be ready to play when we move on from Rodgers."

And that's what they did. The Plan worked. But there's one little fly in the soup, which is why are we working on six year plans if the goal isn't the Super Bowl?? So clearly, Love has to play like the guy they have worked on for all this time. He's 18-14 in the regular season, 1-2 in the playoffs, and I think the expectation should be that he can play well enough to win games for us.

We don't throw a lot, because good offenses don't have to throw a lot. 479 passes last year and probably fewer this year. That's only 28 passes per game. He's not going to be throwing huge games, but he can do his job this year by protecting the ball, running the offense, and getting the ball to open receivers. That was The Plan, and I think we should see the fruition of it this year. It was a good plan, it was well executed, and the organization has done an outstanding job of putting a good team around him. The offensive line, Jacobs & Co., capable receivers, a very solid defense........these pieces are in place.

As others gave mentioned Lafleur - needs to up his game. The play calls need to be in and quickly. The ball needs to be snapped on time and the team needs to ensure that they dont take presnap penalties or lose time outs due to not being on the same page. Lafleur needs to have a eye in the sky who can tell him when to challenge or not and Not blow the ones as many times as last year. Finally the offense seemed to work much better when there was a lot of motion and stagnated when they just stood around. Running the ball sometimes is easier when the other teams backfield is also running around to get into a coverage situation and when we bring that speed into the equation that is when things opened up. Love cant just stand there and look the offense over like he did against the Lions and the Bears several time. The ball needs to come out. Bad INTs happened last year because of indecision or not just throwing it away. Finally - what kills an offence is 3 things fumbles , drops and holding penalties. We especially need to avoid these on offense.

So, completely changing the topic to the Tush Push. For one, the first Eagles use came up short, the ref from the top of the screen showed it short like the replay showed, but the bottom ref took charge and placed it beyond the sticks. Top replay showed it short, but Eagles were smart and snapped it quick, even getting a bonus 5 yards for 12 men on the field.

But my real point is the way to beat the Tush Push is to bring a player off the edge and drill Goedert in the side as he concentrates on the push, taking away his push and asking the Eagles if they want to risk injury to their top TE. Bullard had a chance at this last year then inexplicably pulled up just before contact. If you did it from both sides, you could make the Iggles rethink their strategy. You could even bring Hurts into the equation.
