Green Bay Packers Sign Rookie OL Corey Linsley

With the Linsley deal, the Packers have now signed three out of their nine 2014 draft choices.

The Green Bay Packers signed fourth round draft choice Corey Linsley on Thursday, according to the NFL's transaction wire.

Linsley, from Ohio State, is expected to compete for the starting job at center with second-year candidate J.C. Tretter.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but as the 161st overall selection, Linsley is expected to receive a deal for four years and very close to $2.405 million.

According to OvertheCap.com, Linsley will also get a signing bonus worth $185,000.

Linsley's cap numbers will be $466,250 as a rookie in 2014, $556,250 in 2015, $646,250 in 2016 and $736,250 in 2017.

The signing of Jared Abbrederis also appeared on Thursday's transaction wire, whereas yesterday, Abbrederis had just agreed to terms and not finalized the deal.

Abbrederis and Linsley join Jeff Janis as the only three Packers draft choices that have completed deals before on-field action starts Friday at the team's annual rookie orientation minicamp.

Last year, the Packers had all but their first and second round draft choices by the time rookie minicamp started, but the Packers still have up to Friday morning if they're to match last season's rookie contact efficiency.

Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that Carl Bradford also signed a contract, but it did not appear on the wire.

We drafted Corey Bradford. We drafted Carl Ford. And now the circle is complete: We drafted Carl Bradford. Perfection.

Quick note, Corey Linsley is from Ohio State not North Carolina.
