With the breakup of LaFluers coaching team, it seems they were the ones whose schemes worked and LaFluer is lost with guys like Hackett gone. It seems coaching decisions are not made or at least made very poorly at this point. Rodgers shows no faith in anyone byut himself which has obviously gone South. Face Packers are a mediocre team right now at best!

Just listened to AR after the game, and he basically said the 3 and out calls were on MLF (though he liked them). So how many times can MLF get away with giving up on the run? I have pretty much given up on this team now. I was an AR defender throughout (even admitting his ego problem). But not anymore. There is something seriously wrong with the guys on top. Gute has put together what seems to be a good team. It's MLF/Barry/AR that are the problem. It's up to Murphy and Gute to shake them up to change NOW. But if they can't see the obvious, and need someone to tell them, it would seem to be hopeless.

Lafleur was bitching like a diva all week leading up to this. He showed a real lack of professionalism and his team fell on its face. How can it not be connected.

At least we found out in week 5. I think the window shut while loser Kevin King was still here. Like King, and Pettine it will take Gute two years to fire Barry. Martindale was available and they blew it. At least he had a resume. Joe Barry was a horrible pick. The supposed talented backfield was embarrassing. This team is very consistent at inconsistency. Coaching is not very good. The opponent adjusts and the coordinators and their assistants cannot effectively respond. And do not seem to coach to player strengths.

Joe Barry is coaching a talented defense into a train wreck, as has been his legacy. ML missed out on Plan A, Jim Leonard, a creative, highly successful coach. Plan B was to hire a failed DC due to his crony ties with the Rams.

This is the most talent Barry has ever coached. I think he has no clue how to utilize all this talent. The first half was the best defense so far this year...because the O kept them off the field for long stretches with long, scoring drives.

The second half, when the MM O was again embraced by ML, three and outs put Barry's D on the field for long stretches. Barry doesn't know how to attack...only play not to lose. Really a passive defense now...one I never expected to see. Soft.

Hey Matt..the run game works. OL seems to love the run blocking, and with a few exceptions, showed real strength. Your response...ditch it because the Giants are tempting you to pass. Kinda JV for a HC who should know the strengths of his team....and it isn't deep perimeter passing! Totally out coached.

This team just does not have a true identity anymore. And worse than that, they do not decisively adapt to changes that must made be sooner than later - URGENCY. Joe Barry is this years' Mo Drayton except that (1) he had more experience in his coordinator role than Mo and (2) he has way more talent in his role than Mo ever did. And what happened? MLF kept Drayton on and we lose in the playoffs due to STs. He fired him immediately after but the damage was done.

Now, we have the exact situation with Barry. He should be fired before its too late. WE still have 12 games left in the season to turn the defense around. The Pack can still turn things around but it will take a BOLD and DECISIVE move like this to do it. My god, I would even take Jerry Gray as an interim DC only if (1) he hasn't been too influenced by Barry's passive style (or lack thereof) and (2) if he can make better players decisions like keeping Kevin King around for as long as he did LOL.

I understand that Mark Murphys' rein as CEO ends this or next year? And what a legacy its been? He's had one of the best QBs ever as his QB (2 if you include Favre which isn't so bad) and only 1 Super Bowl to come from it. And that in a year where they were a sixth seeded wild card. This is nothing to be proud of Mr Murphy. Maybe you look in the mirror and it tells you something different than what we see? But as Jerry Lewis once said to Dean Martin, "Don't go away mad Dean (Mark), just go away"! Or grow a pair and MAKE SOME CHANGES!!!

Too many messages to read through, and unfortunately -- perhaps, fortunately -- I had to work and got home, literally, in time to watch the final two plays. I was checking the scores as much as I could, but I don't have particular insight here.

So, after 5 games, the Pack are an underwhelming 3-2. There's plenty of time to turn this around, though I won't issue guarantees (how could I?) or tell anyone to R-E-L-A-X.

Not sure how to assess this team's potential. AR is my favorite player in the NFL, the best QB I've ever seen (and I'm not young) and the deserved, two-time-defending MVP. But frankly, he hasn't been great thus far. The O-line has not pass-protected well, or even looked like an average unit at many times. The D is puzzling, and the Special Teams have gone from historically inept to tolerable.

It was a bad loss, but 12 regular season games remain. I'm not about to write off this team, or even Barry -- let alone MLF or AR. Okay....R-E-L-A-X!

The team is just not very good. Inconsistent, poor schemes, poor execution, and an uncanny inability to make in-game adjustments. Douglas and Stokes were HORRENDOUS! They were so against a few backup pork chops and they still couldn’t cover anyone! Barry needs to answer for the horrible production of his unit and MLF needs to do the same on O. This team could easily go 8-9 if they keep up this inexplicable football.

It seems the Wisconsin Badgers surprisingly fired head coach Paul Chryst in large part for not giving his quarterback enough of a role in the offense.
Conversely, is it time for the Green Bay Packers to surprisingly fire head coach Matt LaFleur for giving his quarterback too much of a role in the offense (so much so that he intrudes on the coaching)?

I'm a big fan of Chryst, but maybe a change was for the better.
With the Packers, the situation is much worse if there is indeed a fundamental dysfunction of Aaron Rodgers undermining and overruling LaFleur.
Nothing good can come of any player usurping power from the head coach.

I think they should beat Washington, but after that I only see four more wins. Maybe five as the Rams are fading. This is a 9 win team at best.

LaFleur is Mike Sherman 2.0.. wins a bunch of games that don’t matter. Often times chokes during big games, playoffs. Outcoached consistently and fails to make proper adjustments.

Only difference is that Sherman used prime ahman green. This offense needs to run through Jones and Dillon. Receivers are not talented or too inexperienced to carry the load.

The coaching is sub-par. Rodgers is running the team and the offense. Which is why when the Packers get inside the ten-yard-line, they stop running (the vast majority of the time) and try to get a passing TD. Add in that Rodgers just loves to throw the deep ball. That he is mediocre at it makes no difference. Another thing: why isn't the offense going through Aaron Jones? It seemed that today, Rodgers decided to turn Cobb into his substitute for Adams, and it worked for a while. What's Lafleur going to do? Bench him? The defense, especially in the secondary, is lost. The guys seem to be working independently, rather than as a group. This is on the coaches. Either make the schemes simpler, or somehow get these guys on the same page. We're five games into the season; they should be assignment sure and working as a group, not like a bunch of guys who have met for the first time. And who would have thought that the most consistently good part of this team would have been ST's? Oh, yeah; they finally hired a coach who knows what he is doing, rather than going cheap and hoping for the best. Too late for this year, but something to keep in mind when the Packers either don't make the playoffs, or are eliminated in the first round, as they are run out of the stadium by an embarrassing margin. This is getting very frustrating. The hopes were so high, and now reality is crashing in, and the outlook is grim,

This team lacks overall talent. The staff failed to understand you must spend time getting new people in a position to contribute. The third pick Rodgers runs kicks back, Watson our second pick has learned an end around. Your first rounder Wyatt Bench sits and Doubs could be something if Rodgers would throw more then twice to him.

I'm exhausted already and the season has a long way to go. Hope springs eternal but man, it is painful watching this team right now!

Did Rodgers hijack the offense? Maybe that's a little conspiratorial, but I wonder if it's true. On third and two on the last drive, Rodgers was throwing the ball to Randall Cobb. The pass was tipped and so was the other attempt on 4th and two. That was so pathetic because I can't remember any time a team had two passes tipped back to back. But back to Rodgers. He was throwing to Cobb even though the obvious play would've been to give the ball to Jones or Dillon. Did he change the run to a pass? 3rd and two is why Dillon was drafted. And even if he only got one yard, they probably could've done a QB sneak on 4th down which are hard to stop. The other part that I thought was wrong was the fact that there was still one minute left. If they scored too soon, the Giants would've gotten the ball with all their timeouts which would've been kind of risky against the Packers defense who weren't playing great. At that point, they should've been playing for OT, two point to win or nothing. Was LaFlaur trying to tie the game, then stop the Giants and get the ball back? That decision didn't make sense. Also on the 4th down play, it looks like Rodgers was throwing to Lazard in the endzone. So again they woud've scored, given the ball back to the Giants and probably lost anyway.

Then there is the fact that this team isn't playing well anyway. The defense is usually the only part I enjoy watching. The offense has about two good drives per game so far. Otherwise, they are frustrating to watch. Despite their current winning record, I think this team looks as bad or worse than the 2018 team. The offense is so inconsistent and unreliable. They didn't score any points for the entire second half. I thought Adams absence would be difficult to manage, but I didn't think they would be this bad. But maybe that shouldn't be a surprise. I'm frustrated that Watson is a total bust for this year. But you might say that isn't fair because he's still developing. Ok except that the Packers needed someone for this year, not three years from now. It's still early and there's a chance he'll do something, but so far the Packers are bringing him along so slowly that I don't see him doing anything this year. He's also going through an injury too. At the same time, even if he didn't get hurt in training camp it's a bizarre move. It's like the Packers never have any urgency. They trade away Adams to the Raiders and lose St. Brown and Scantling via free agency. They basically started over at receiver this year. And their best move was to sign Watkins who is already hurt and draft Watson after a trade who was a project and likely not going to do anything even without the training camp injury. They drafted Doubs too who looks decent, but he's not any sort of starter. I just don't understand the decisions that the Packers made.

They do something that makes sense like the 2019 off season signing Zadarious Smith, Preston Smith, and Amos to get the defense back to a decent level. They end up getting right back to super bowl caliber. Then Gutenkunst drafts Love which only kind of makes sense because Rodgers is older yet drafting qbs to sit for years isn't something that happens in the modern NFL. They also draft Dillon and Deguara with high picks. Dillon is the only guy who is actually a part of the offense, while Deguara catches about two passes per game. The Packers spend high draft picks on project players and then bring them along so slowly while everyone else is trying to get guys who can help the team win currently. The only project player that made sense was Gary because the Packers already had starters. Now the packers committed to Rodgers with another contract so Love is basically done. So it was a waste?

Rodgers is maddening. If he could just dial down his $&@($@ ego and not have to try to make the hero passes, we win this game. Run the damn ball. So tired of Rodgers running this team. And get an age appropriate hair cut. What a putz.
