Dallas Cowboys restricted free agent defensive end Marcus Spears has signed his one-year tender, the team announced on Tuesday.

Spears, one of the Cowboys' two first-round picks in 2005, was tendered at the "Original Round" level. Barring a contract extension, Spears will earn $1.226 million dollars in 2010. The Cowboys used the 20th overall pick on the 6-4, 309-pound defensive lineman from LSU.

Spears has been a starter in 71 of his 80 games with the Cowboys, totaling 166 tackles, 8 quarterback sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.
