Good:
The last 4 snaps on D. Excellent. Where was that the rest of the game?
MVS

Bad:
Special Teams. Allowing the punt return for a TD was obviously bad, but the Special Teams were pretty bad on most plays today.
Stupid holding penalty that cost the Packers a TD (on a great throw and a great catch)
Adams fumble after a nice 20+ yard pickup to get the team away from their own goal line.
Would AJ Dillon be used on the short yardage plays if he wasn't on COVID list? Haven't seen much of him all year so I still want to complain about the draft :)

Ugly:
I'd like to say everything else.
But... if it wasn't for that punt return, the Adams fumble, the TD penalty call, it might have been a blowout. I guess you can find 3 plays in most games that change the outcome. So at least they still won ugly.

The Good: They won. MVS. No wasted timeouts due to AR milking the clock to 1/4 of a second. Not much else
The Bad: Defense still sucks making the opponent QB look like a HOFer. Not that he played so great, but he shouldn't have played as well as he did. The Packers HAVE TO stop running on 2nd and 10.
The Ugly: Can't get a damn first down with a few minutes left in the game to seal the deal.

"Defense still sucks making the opponent QB look like a HOFer."

I don't know about that...Luton was 18-35 for 169 (4.8 ypa), 1 TD, 1 INT, 33.5 QBR, which is pretty poor. Robinson was the star of their show today. Every time they asked Luton to throw instead of running the ball, they were doing the Packers a favor.

Please don't be fooled by the stats and this has been the problem with many who were saying the defense is not that bad. There were many throws that luton missed to wide open receivers otherwise it could've been an upset at home. Just look at the intent on the screen passes how GB Rb's got immediately tackled at the LOS where our defense gave them easy yards with no tacklers near by.

The Good: Hard not to say MVS. Happy for the guy to have put together a couple of really good games.

The Bad: Our 3 man rush against a rookie late round QB. I just don't get it. Especially in the red zone.

The Ugly: This win was all kinds of ugly. I will take it don't get me wrong, but wow did we stink today.

Good: MVS, Safety play in first half, last year’s D showing up in the second half of the 4th quarter.

Bad: Inability to find someone to back up Ervin on offense. Receivers not named MVS or Adams.

Ugly: Pettine failing to stop the run or get any pressure for 7/8ths of the game. Run blocking. Short yardage rushing. JK Scott and punt coverage team.

The good: A victory in spite of themselves
The bad: The lack of leadership from veteran players. Who had the fumbles, the drops, the missed tackles, the penalties, the missed blocks and the lack of aggressive play?
The ugly: The game plan by the special teams and defensive staffs. The lack of second half adjustments. The inability of these coaches to, once again, motivate these players.

Robinson ran at a 6.8 yard/carry clip in the first half. Robinson ran for a 3.69 per carry average in the second half. Much better 2nd half.

Otherwise, yep, won despite themselves. Perhaps leadership is an issue and the STs stunk. Motivation perhasp. It certainly seemed like Jax did the hitting and GB was the dummy.

Struggle with the O line being deemed good yesterday. They allowed a fair number of pressures against a team that has been very poor in that area. That, however, is a minor quibble. Against a team that has been Swiss cheese against the run, we failed to open holes for runners consistently. That isn’t the first time that run blocking has been an issue this season? But possibly the least understandable example on paper.

The Good: Somehow the Packers won!

The Bad: The Packers running game was not good. Whether it or was the Oline or the backs or the play calling. It was B-A-D.

The Ugly: The Packers defense couldn’t stop the run again. Team doesn’t set the edge. Lowry and Lancaster are like turnstiles in a subway. Packers will not go deep in the playoffs without being completely exploited on the ground. Just terrible and it’s not changing anytime soon.

The Good: MVS, Chandon Sullivan, K'dar Hollman held his own against a very good player in DJ Chark,
Also, our defense only gave up 13 points with the lone TD being a short field after the Adams fumble, Jacksonville drove the field twice, both times for FGs, this will win most games in the NFL

The Bad: Davante, Rodgers making back foot throws, our Pass rush for most of the game, The run game wasn't great

The Ugly: Our special teams.....Yikes..They have regressed, coverage is bad, the Weapon is not a weapon in weather

Jacksonville stayed in this game through Teams...Punt return TD, a punter flipping field position....Menenga needs to get on these guys this week

The good is better than you suggest. Jax had a 29 yard drive for a field goal, a 16 yard drive for a TD, and a 43 yard drive for a field goal.

All their points came on short fields. I'd say the D gave up 10 points.

Positives — We didn’t have Buck and Aikman on the call.

Big Bob Tonyan.

Amos interception. We need to get more turnovers.

7-2!

Negatories — Losing Swervin’ Ervin.

Where was Za’Darius???

Tackling. Or in today’s case technically “imitation tackling.”

Playing down to an opponent that we should have soundly beaten.

Not making a cold and windy day at Lambeau a factor in our favor. The warm weather Jaguars looked more comfortable out there than our guys.

ESB is a waste of roster space.

I can’t help but wonder what would be if Josiah Deguara had been able to play the whole season. I also wonder if Dillon couldn’t have busted through that defense a little bit, but he has to get healthy first.

People were saying what you said about ESB for the last 2 months about MVS (and they ALL shut up this week).
He's basically a 2nd year guy with no real experience yet.
He'll be fine when he's played as many games as MVS.
Too much upside--just as with MVS--to give up on him that quickly.

The Good:

Aaron Jones always
Crosby
MVS
Rodgers

Bad:
The DLine
The ILBers
Special teams again
Weather
Homefield advantage

We all know our team is soft. We've known since San Francisco & Seattle & San Francisco have punched us in the mouths since 2012 but the team denies it & the local media won't print it, won't call out Gutey for it.

Almost every other team has 3 or 4 DTs who would help Kenny Clark so much more than the dog crap he has around him now.

We need some physical DBs like Atari Bigby or Chuck Cecil. Our ILBs are finesse except maybe Kamal, but he's injured so easily....like the thin Kirksey. I miss Desmond Bishop. Or Seth Joyner.

I agree with this on the DL. Our DBs are so deep though, I almost think we should just play man coverage the rest of the season...I believe they are good enough...but like you said, lack of talent around Clark is a problem, not so much Preston and ZaDarious..but Lancaster, Lowry, M Adams....they definitely need to cut bait with them next season.

Good...Jaamal Williams, Baktiari, M Lewis, MVS catching passes ( which should go unspoken because that’s his job. Tonyan , Jones..yes Josh Jackson...stepping in on ST and didn’t here his number playing corner

Bad...Lowry, Lancaster and Pettine for lining up Z Smith over center again...that never works

Ugly....3rd down play calling. Lack of Interior pressure.

I can’t fault special teams...many back ups were playing all day long so the special teams were sloppy.

Excellent post EddieLee. Our DT's are crap. Lowry was shoved aside easily all game. Why is he in there? Our DB's seem to be too small to tackle anyone, never driving a runner back, If they make the tackle it's by hanging onto an ankle. This team is incredibly soft. Gary had a few good plays at the end but for the most part, he and P. Smith are fairly useless. Poor pass rushers and miserable against the run. And what's with Z. Smith lining up in the middle? Does that ever work? Pettine

Not to disagree, but I do think it’s what we do with the ones we have as much as need. Pettine’s method of using them and choices as to who he uses undermines both run and rush.

I think it is no accident that, when the run was essentially irrelevant at the end, the pass first version suddenly became effective. To me, it seems Pettine’s strategy to resolve the issues demonstrated by the 49ers last year has backfired: failing to work against the run and preventing us from doing what we did best last year.

Good. The fact that I’m feeling better every week about my calling for a change at DC at the end of the season., MVS, not losing to the Jags.

Bad, D looking pedestrian against a poor offensive team with a rook at qb. Ladies and gentlemen this is not a superbowl capable team with this D.

The Good...The win. 7-2 is a HELL of a lot better than 6-3 with Indy coming up next next. The pressure applied the last Jacksonville series...MVS... That young man LOOKS like he has some confidence right now. That long TD pass was one he'd usually drop and the run after the catch was beautiful!
Adams Catch in End Zone... Sorry Aaron...That was Adams 1st fumble this season and it was a good defensive play. I'm not putting him in bad or ugly myself.

The Bad...The game plan and play calling. 4th and 1 and we run Aaron Jones right up the middle. We've been stuffed on that more than once this year. If you HAVE to run it up the gut, would Williams be a better option? The Packers in colder weather...My God, the Packers looked like the team from Florida, and it's not even REALLY cold yet.

The REALLY Bad..Leaving Billy Winn off the active list. Are you kidding me? UGH!!!!
Preston Smith holding the edge...When Smith was signed that was one of the better things Smith did in Washington.

The Ugly...The Packers run defense. THANK GOD Jay Gruden didn't run it on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down. They would have won the game and had the TOP won by 30 minutes. The Packers energy, SMH... They're fighting for a #1 seed and maybe the hope of a playoff game or 2 at home and they come out like that?

Last Night on SNF I heard Collinsworth say "The Patriots practiced this week in the cold and rain". HEY MLF, maybe it's time to start having a practice or two OUTSIDE so your team doesn't look like it's hates the cold. You HAVE to have them better prepared MLF.

GOOD-
MVS- with Lazard coming back, MVS' emergence as a legit WR will significantly open up the field for the Pack
CBs Jackson/Hollman- Jags rookie QB looked promising and he's got some talented/productive WRs to throw to. Jackson/Hollman were respectable fill-ins. You can never have too much depth at CB.
Bak's Contract- Left side is locked down for the future. Worth every penny.
AR- Outside of his inexplicable INT, another solid performance.
BAD-
Special Teams- Is ST bad play beginning to trend? We saw the cracks against the Vikes with two major breakdowns. Against the Jags, allowing a punt return TD and JK Scott's 15 yard punt at crunch time make me question this team's ability down the stretch.
No team juice- Once again, the Pack sleep walks thru a NFL game. Our lack of game time fire is a major concern! Watching other teams, Bucs, Rams, Steelers....they're playing hard nosed, full speed team football. Is the lack of fire why we get kicked in the teeth by those "better" teams?
Smith Bros/Gary/ILB/Coach P?- Where do you start with these guys? Is it the players or the scheme? No pressure on the Jags rookie 6th round QB until the final minute of the game...the Smith Bros and Gary look like they are running in mud, no production at all. Am I missing something? Why are Kirksey and Burks playing in front of Martin and Barnes at ILB? I would rather have the two rookies "learn on the job" a bring some POP to that position than watch the pathetic play of Kirksey and Burks the entire game....just awful. Finally, Coach P.......your "faster to fly to Miami" comment now haunts me as teams tear off chunks of rushing yards on early downs, 3rd downs, any time, every time it's there for the taking. Teams seems to be very willing to "drive to Miami" on this D scheme and we can't stop them even when we try....Coach P needs to find a way to get some disruption out this D unit.....if Pack gets more production from the D....a long playoff/SB run is a reality....

watched Pats last as well, see what a defense looks like? They just punched Ravens in the mouth and won with a bunch of backups on offense. Its just so frustrating to watch GB with their soft coverage at CB, then the missed tackling. Track meet in Indy next week, fast turf and Indy defense will not allow GB to recover from 3rd and long. I read 9-7 earlier post easily can be, hope they are looking for new DC sorry Pettine you have no answers for other teams that run the ball. Scouting staff should be put on notice as well, D line is so under average to give Lowry big deal last year ouch! Lancaster backup at best, Mont. Adams doesn't get it done. Keep hearing how Clark is this and that big contract that hasn't played up to it, no help from either guy on each side. better than average.

The good the win
The Bad special teams
The Ugly Defense mainly soft play no tackling, red zone defense should call it green zone for this group.

GOOD: MVS was GB's best WR yesterday, and it wasn't close. Savage, Amos and Raven Green also had good games. Rodgers finally bootlegged one for a TD. Gary, Z and Preston finally showed up, albeit in the last two minutes of the game. 7-2.

BAD: Our STs pretty much sucked. Opie is no Mason when it comes to tackling an opponent on a return. Running into a wall all night long got old. Our run defense getting gashed again. Missed tackles are killing us.

UGLY: Winning ugly when we should have had a decisive win vs the Jags. Playing down to their level sucks. We had zero energy most of the game. Huard, and Jennings announcing/ doing color for our game. Man, they were horrible! Made Aikman and Buck look good. This was the second poorly played game we had in Lambeau, in a row! Time to show some pride at Home! Not what I wanted to see when we should have been fired up to win one, in Lambeau, for Hornung.

Same old story by Packer Fans pissed at the defense who gave up 10 pts. Special teams gave up 7 and Rodgers gave up 3.
No one talking about Packer offense stinking up the place by going 5-13 on third down or Davante dropping two first downs and then fumbling on a huge gain and Rodgers throwing a pick in their red zone and the defense stopping them! Aaron Jones only having 46 yards rushing is a lot worse than anything the defense did!

Get some perspective Packer Fans— You ain’t ever going to see the 1985 Bear defense in the NFL again EVER.
Success in the NFL is all about the offense and scoring. If the Packer Defense gives up 10 pts we all better jump around and high five and head butt cuz that is awesome! Get passed at the offensive game plan and the play calling and the offensive line for getting blown up!

You're asking for a track meet with us outscoring the other team. We've been trying to do that for decades with one SB to show for it. Don't need the 1985 Bear defense, how about a defense that doesn't get stepped on like a bug when we play the better teams? We will get run on again because it's easy to get past Lowry and Lancaster and Gary and P. Smith, and LB's who are out of position, and then it's CB's who get run over if they even get their hands on the runner. While we're getting run over, Rodgers and our great offense are spectators. This hasn't been a winning strategy, ever. "Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it."

The Good, we ecked out a win against a mighty 1-7 team at home. Also Cudos to Gary who finially made a play after three years of waiting.

The bad. The stupidity of the coaching staff with clock usage. Okay call me stupid but you have one yard to go to put the game away and know the call. The clock is ticking, thats good for you. But you stop the clock because what your going to dicuss the play you already know your going to run? Nice present for the other team.

You have the ball on what the 10 and 55 seconds to go before the half and you take your sweet ass time calling a play -again eating your own clock? Then you get a sack and now your only in field goal range, not touch down range and your clock is still running. So you call a time out and kick 3 points when you could have used your time outs and got a touch down?

Ugly - the quality of defensive backs. Funny out two biggest backs who are supposed to be our guys are always the ones hurt. Throw in Savage and apparently only the smaller lesser known guys seem to stay fit. Unfortunately they are slow, cant tackle and too small to cover the bigger receivers and that aint changing until Savage, King and Alexander decide to play. What a waste of drafting.
